CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES

2021-22 ARTICLING STUDENT POSITIONS

Looking for a unique articling experience that includes public interest environmental law?

The ELC is accepting applications to our shared articling program for 2021-22. Deadline to apply is Friday, July 17, 2020.

The ELC is a non-profit society that operates Canada’s largest clinical public interest environmental law program in partnership with the University of Victoria Faculty of Law. Providing assistance to community groups, conservation organizations and First Nations across the province, the ELC produces legal research, education materials and citizen handbooks; advocates on a range of environmental law reform issues; and represents clients before legislative committees, tribunals, and the courts.

As an Articled Student with the ELC, you will receive a competitive salary and have the opportunity to work with experienced lawyers both at the ELC and in private practice.

In the ELC shared articling program, students spend half the articling term at the ELC and half with another firm. Students hired for these positions are responsible for securing a shared articling position that meets Law Society of British Columbia articling requirements. Since 2006, the ELC has successfully partnered with over 20 law firms to offer shared articles in Victoria, Vancouver and even the Yukon.

To learn more about the benefits of shared articles for both students and law firms, please see our ELC Shared Articles Program flyer.
